B.S. University of Wisconsin - Madison

Elsa graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2023 with a B.S. in Anthropology and Zoology, as well as a certificate in Archaeology. During her undergrad, she worked in the Riters lab, where she investigated social interactions and mate choice in European starlings. She began working with the Marler lab in June 2023 as a lab manager and a research specialist, where she happily supports the graduate students in their research endeavors. She also oversees the mouse colony, a job that she adores.

Her research interests include the evolution and genetic underpinnings of behavior, specifically social behaviors. She is interested in unique behaviors associated with individual species, and how genetics may have played a role in their evolution.

In her free time, she can be found cross-country skiing, birding, foraging, playing video games, or playing with her three pets: Lynx (cat), Caesar (dog), and Akira (cat).
