Shelby is a junior Psychology and Biology major at UW-Madison. She joined the lab in Fall 2022 as an undergraduate research assistant and is currently helping with an experiment started by a previous undergraduate investigating the effects of paternal capacity on offspring behavior and specific neuropeptides. Shelby’s alternative research interests include the psychology of offspring development, animal cognition, and the connection between the brain and the heart. Additionally, she is interested in the mechanisms involved in cardiovascular diseases and congenital heart defects.

Shelby plans on continuing her passion for biology and psychology in medical school after graduation. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, reading, being outside, and hanging out with her friends.
